One friend was killed, another seriously injured and the driver jailed for culpable driving. The film, which was developed by the Transport Accident Commission, offers a variety of perspectives on the tragedy, including the driver, the family and friends of the boy who died and others affected by the crash, including a witness at the scene. Muck up Day won a Special Commendation for Education at the 2001 Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) awards and was screened at the Australian International Documentary Conference. Curriculum materials for both the VCE and the AusVELS have been developed for this film.
