"Driving Stars" Denis Commetti and Sam Hooper - TAC Cup TV ad The TAC Cup, entering its 21st year, provides an opportunity for the TAC to promote road safety messages to our main target audience, young male drivers, and their peers. More than just a football competition, tt provides a chance to educate those who need to understand why leadership, on and off the field, is important and why looking after your mates is crucial. This year, in addition to celebrating the 21st year of the TAC Cup, the TAC is launching the new 'Speed Hurts' tag line. All TAC Cup players will wear Speed Hurts on their footy jumpers, play with footies stating this message and be involved in educational sessions about the dangers associated with speeding. Each year, about 100 people are killed on our roads in crashes that have speed as a major contributing factor. The TAC's goal is to make speeding as socially unacceptable as drink driving, and through the TAC Cup, messages promoting the dangers associated with speeding will be spread across the state. As part of the 21st year celebrations and the re-branding of the TAC Cup, two new TAC advertisements were created to air on TV from the first weekend of the AFL season and throughout the year. Featuring AFL Commentator, Dennis Commetti, the ads focus on the speed message.
